PLEASE don't look too closely at the binding... It's my first time and, well, I'm kinda a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kinda gal, which means that I should have looked up a tutorial, or asked someone about it, or you know, something, but totally didn't. 'Cause apparently, I like to make my own mistakes; and I'm telling you, there are mistakes aplenty. Plus I didn't exactly choose the easiest of fabrics to attempt my first binding. 'Cause why do anything the easy way?
Luckily, baby E won't care... and hopefully, his mama will turn a blind eye to the errors. ;) But the colors are pretty and it's SUPER warm and SOOO soft, so I think that makes up for it... Right??!
The gift is almost complete! Just gotta finish up the outfit. :) I'll debut the whole thing tomorrow... (Hopefully.)
(I'll be linking this blanket up to the fab linky parties on the right.)
I think you did a great job. Binding TERRIFIES me, but I still try it too. You will never be able to do it if you don't try. (Did I sound like a Aesop Fable or what? - haha)
ReplyDeleteRight, and thanks! Luckily I didn't show off the bad parts... lol!
ReplyDeleteI am a novice sewer and my projects are loaded with errors.
ReplyDeleteSewing has such a high learning curve, right?
BTW...love your choice of fabric: great textures!

ReplyDeleteI'm loving the fabric combo there!! Have no idea what binding is (my medium is lumber as in power tools...), but good luck with it just the same. I'm sure it will be just amazing. Can't wait to see the finished project!
